These Terms govern purchases of books and related printed publications from MediCure Library, including orders, payment, delivery, cancellations, returns, and complaints. Mandatory rights under applicable law take precedence over these Terms.

2 Scope and agreement
2.1 These Terms apply to book sales accepted by us, including orders agreed through messaging, social media, or other sales channels we operate. Delivery outside Lebanon requires a separate written agreement on the destination and charges.
2.2 Digital publications, subscriptions, printing or binding services, and healthcare or professional services require terms specific to those products or services and are not included in this document.
2.3 We make these Terms and the order details available before you commit to a purchase. Please review and retain them. Placing an enquiry, following our social media, or receiving an automated message does not by itself establish agreement to an order.
2.4 You must have legal capacity to enter into the purchase, or act through a parent, guardian, or other authorised representative. Anyone ordering for an organisation must be authorised to do so.
3 Book descriptions and selection
3.1 The order summary identifies the title, edition, language, format, quantity, and condition being supplied, together with the ISBN or publisher where available. New, used, remaindered, or otherwise marked stock must be described accurately before purchase.
3.2 Cover images may illustrate a title rather than the exact printing supplied. A change in cover does not permit us to substitute a different edition, language, binding, condition, or other agreed feature without your consent.
3.3 An access code, online resource, or supplementary item is included only if expressly listed in the agreed order. Where supplied, any known expiry date or regional restriction will be disclosed before purchase. We remain responsible for supplying what we have agreed to provide.
3.4 Please check the book details against your course or personal requirements before confirming. We can help identify a title, but academic acceptance or examination results are not guaranteed unless an express promise is made. This does not excuse an incorrect description or a selection error made by us.
4 Order process and confirmation
4.1 Send us the requested book details and quantity. We will confirm availability or sourcing arrangements and provide an order summary showing the product, total price, payment requirements, delivery or collection arrangements, and any special conditions.
4.2 Before final confirmation, you may correct the title, edition, quantity, contact details, or delivery address. We will acknowledge your confirmation and provide a written record of the accepted order. Where electronic contracting law requires a further confirmation, that step forms part of our order process.
4.3 A stock enquiry or preliminary estimate is not a reservation unless we expressly confirm a reservation and its duration. This does not alter the legal effect of a binding offer.
4.4 If an error or availability problem arises, we will explain it and seek your agreement to any proposed change. We will not substitute another item or increase an accepted order price without your consent. Your legal rights arising from an accepted order remain unaffected.
5 Prices and payment
5.1 Before order acceptance, we state the price and currency, applicable taxes, delivery charges, and any other amount you must pay. Any quotation validity period and any lawful currency conversion method or rate will be disclosed. No additional charge is imposed without a legal or agreed basis.
5.2 Accepted payment methods, the payment due date, and any deposit are confirmed for each order. Pay only using the account or collection instructions confirmed by us. Payment is recorded when received or confirmed by the relevant payment provider; a transfer screenshot alone may require verification.
5.3 Any deposit is credited against the order total. We provide a receipt or invoice as required by law. If a payment problem occurs, contact us so that we can check the transaction before a duplicate payment is made.
5.4 Catalogue prices and promotions may change prospectively, subject to applicable advertising and pricing law. A later catalogue change does not automatically alter the price of an already accepted order.
6 Special orders and preorders
6.1 A special order is a book sourced specifically for your request; a preorder is an order for an item not yet released or available. Before committing funds to sourcing, we confirm the book details, deposit or advance payment, estimated timescale, and any lawful cancellation costs.
6.2 A book sourced specially is not automatically treated as a personalised or made-to-order product. Any restriction on cancellation or return must be disclosed before acceptance and must comply with applicable law.
6.3 If sourcing fails, or we cannot supply the agreed item, we will notify you and return payments for the unsupplied item and any related charges that are no longer due. An alternative book or store credit requires your agreement.
6.4 Supplier and import estimates may change. We will tell you about material delays and discuss revised delivery or cancellation options, while preserving your legal rights to cancellation or reimbursement.
7 Cancellation before delivery
7.1 Please review the title, edition, language, format, quantity, price, and delivery details before confirming your order. You may request corrections before MediCure Library accepts the order.
7.2 Once an order has been accepted, MediCure Library does not accept cancellations, returns, or refund requests solely because the customer changes their mind. This applies to in-stock books, special orders, and preorders, whether or not sourcing, dispatch, or delivery has occurred, subject to clause 7.3.
7.3 This policy does not exclude or limit any mandatory right or remedy under applicable law, including remedies for incorrect, damaged, defective, or undelivered goods, and any statutory cancellation or withdrawal right applicable to the transaction.
8 Delivery and collection
8.1 The service area, delivery or collection method, fee, and estimated or agreed delivery date are confirmed before acceptance. Any international shipping or import charges must be allocated expressly before an international order is accepted.
8.2 Please provide an accurate address, reachable telephone number, and any instructions needed for delivery. Tell us promptly about changes. If an unsuccessful delivery results from incorrect details or your unavailability, any reasonable redelivery charge will be explained before redelivery is arranged, subject to law.
8.3 We are responsible for arranging delivery as agreed. Handing a parcel to our chosen courier does not by itself remove our responsibility to you for loss, damage, or non-delivery. Please contact us if an order is overdue or missing.
8.4 If a disruption prevents delivery, we will explain the situation and available options. Your rights concerning an agreed delivery deadline, cancellation, or reimbursement remain in force. Partial delivery or a change of collection location requires your agreement where it changes the accepted order.
9 Incorrect damaged or defective items
9.1 We must supply goods matching the accepted description and the standards required by law. Missing pages, unreadable printing, faulty binding, undisclosed damage, the wrong edition, or a missing item promised with the book may give rise to a remedy.
9.2 Please report a problem as soon as reasonably possible, giving the order details and a description. Photographs can help us assess visible damage, but an unboxing video, original packaging, or a particular short reporting period is not a condition that removes a valid legal claim.
9.3 We will assess the issue and provide the remedy required by law, which may include repair, replacement, a price reduction, cancellation, or refund depending on the circumstances. Any return needed because of our error or a qualifying defect will be arranged without an improper cost to you.
9.4 Damage caused by misuse, unsuitable storage, writing in a book, or ordinary wear after delivery is not treated as a defect for which we are responsible, unless the issue results from our breach or the law provides otherwise. This does not affect claims for defects already present at delivery or discovered later.
10 Change of mind and return arrangements
10.1 MediCure Library does not accept returns or provide refunds solely because the customer changes their mind after an order has been accepted. This policy applies to in-stock books, special orders, and preorders.
10.2 This policy does not limit mandatory rights concerning incorrect, damaged, defective, or undelivered goods, or any statutory withdrawal right applicable to the transaction. Where such a right applies, we will provide the required information and follow the applicable legal procedure.
10.3 For a claim involving a return, please contact us with your order details and a description of the issue. We will provide return instructions and arrange or cover any return costs for which we are legally responsible. This procedure does not restrict mandatory consumer rights.
11 Refunds
11.1 Refunds are not provided solely for a change of mind. Refunds remain available where required by applicable law or these Terms, including where we cannot supply an accepted order or a refund is the appropriate remedy for a valid claim. We will confirm the amount and expected processing time and comply with applicable legal deadlines.
11.2 Refunds will normally be made through the original payment method where practicable and lawful. Any alternative method or currency conversion must be agreed and must not reduce your legal entitlement. Delivery charges and other amounts will be refunded where legally required. Store credit will not replace a monetary refund without your consent.
12 Copyright and publisher rights
12.1 Books and third-party content remain subject to the rights of their authors, publishers, and other rights holders. Purchasing a physical copy does not transfer copyright or grant permission to scan, reproduce, translate, upload, or distribute protected content beyond what the law or a valid licence permits.
12.2 Original descriptions, photographs, designs, and publications belonging to MediCure Library may be reused only with the appropriate permission or as permitted by law. References to publishers or institutions do not imply an affiliation or endorsement unless we expressly state one.
13 Educational and medical information
Medical books and related information are supplied for education and reference. They do not replace professional clinical judgment or individual medical advice. Readers should verify current dosages, contraindications, and treatment guidance before clinical use. A book purchase does not create a clinical relationship with MediCure Library. Our legal responsibility for the goods remains unaffected.
14 Customer information and privacy
14.1 MediCure Library is responsible for the customer information it processes. We use the information needed to answer enquiries, process orders and payments, arrange delivery, keep required records, and resolve complaints. Necessary contact and delivery details must be supplied to fulfil an order; unrelated information is optional.
14.2 Information may be shared, as needed for those purposes, with delivery providers, payment providers, relevant suppliers, professional advisers, and competent authorities where legally required. We apply appropriate security measures and keep records only for justified business and legal periods. Separate privacy information will explain any additional processing, website tracking, or relevant retention details.
14.3 Contact us to request access, correction, or other applicable privacy rights, including deletion or an objection where the law permits. Required transaction records may need to be retained. An order does not automatically enrol you in promotional messaging; you may ask us to stop marketing messages at any time.
15 Events affecting performance and responsibility
15.1 If an event outside our reasonable control affects an order, we will notify you, take reasonable steps to reduce the effect, and explain the available options. Such an event does not automatically cancel the order, forfeit your payments, or remove a right to a remedy.
15.2 Each party remains responsible for its own legal obligations and conduct. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, deliberate wrongdoing, gross negligence, or any liability that the law does not allow us to exclude, or reduces a mandatory consumer guarantee.
16 Complaints and disputes
16.1 Please contact us using section 1 with your name, order details, a description of the problem, and the outcome you are seeking. We will review the complaint and respond within a reasonable time, observing any applicable statutory deadline.
16.2 Contacting us does not prevent you from approaching any authority, a legally available mediation or dispute body, or a competent court. Any mandatory dispute procedure remains applicable.
17 Applicable law and updates
17.1 These Terms are governed by Lebanese law, subject to any mandatory protection applicable to a customer in another jurisdiction. Disputes are dealt with by the courts or bodies having jurisdiction under applicable law.
17.2 The version supplied when your order is accepted applies to that order. Later changes apply to future orders unless a change is required by law or validly agreed. We will make updated Terms available with their effective date.
17.3 Order-specific conditions must be supplied before acceptance and must comply with law. If a provision cannot lawfully be enforced, it does not remove mandatory rights or invalidate the remaining provisions that can operate independently.
17.4 These Terms are issued in English. We will provide Arabic wording or another language version where legally required. Language arrangements do not limit mandatory information or consumer protections.
